Power cut, day three

Third day without electricity after the storm. The neighbors and I have been sharing a generator, taking turns charging phones. Mrs. Okafor brought everyone jollof rice cooked on a wood fire. The kids are playing in the street like it's a holiday. There's something almost beautiful about how crisis strips everything back to community. We know each other's names now. Before the storm, I'd lived here two years and never spoken to any of them.
