Desert sunrise

Woke up at 4:30 to catch the sunrise over Wadi Rum. Worth every minute of lost sleep. The rocks turned from grey to pink to gold to red, all in the space of twenty minutes. A Bedouin family was already up, making coffee over a fire. They waved me over. We sat and drank together in silence, watching the sky change. No common language needed. Some experiences are beyond words. This is why I travel — not to see new things, but to remember that the world is bigger than my problems.
